Job Description
Primary Responsibilities:
- IT Infrastructure Management:
- Ensure the smooth functioning of all IT systems, including hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
- Manage day-to-day IT operations, including troubleshooting system and network issues, ensuring uptime, and addressing user issues promptly.
- Support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT hardware such as computers, servers, printers, and other peripheral devices.
- Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide technical support to employees for various IT-related issues, including software applications, operating systems, and network connectivity.
- Diagnose and resolve IT problems in a timely and efficient manner, minimizing downtime.
- Document IT issues and resolutions to assist in future troubleshooting efforts.
- Network Administration:
- Maintain and monitor the company’s network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and VPN connections.
- Assist in the setup and configuration of network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Perform routine checks to ensure network security and monitor network performance.
- Software Management and Licensing:
- Install, update, and maintain various software applications used by employees.
- Ensure proper licensing of all software and manage software inventories.
- Coordinate with vendors for software procurement, renewal, and upgrades.
- Data Backup and Security:
- Ensure regular backups of company data and systems are performed as per the backup schedule.
- Implement and manage IT security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and data encryption, to safeguard company data.
- Assist in the management of user access and permissions, ensuring that only authorized personnel have access to sensitive data.
- IT Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain IT inventory, including hardware, software, and licenses.
- Document all IT systems and processes to ensure easy reference and continuity in case of team changes.
- Generate regular reports on IT system performance, usage, and issue resolution metrics.
- User Training and Support:
- Conduct training sessions for employees on the use of new software, tools, or IT systems.
- Provide one-on-one support to staff members to enhance their IT literacy and improve productivity.
- Collaboration with IT Team:
- Work closely with other IT team members to plan, implement, and maintain IT projects and upgrades.
- Assist in the evaluation and integration of new technologies to improve business operations.
Key Skills Required:
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networking, and security.
- Experience with troubleshooting and resolving IT-related issues, including system crashes, connectivity issues, and software malfunctions.
- Familiarity with network administration tools and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Basic knowledge of server and database management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in an enterprise environment or within the food or manufacturing industry.
- Certification in IT-related fields (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Professional).
- Familiarity with ERP systems or specific tools used in the organization is a plus.
